The Cast

Katie Maconaughey (Connie/CJ): Katie is an AEA actor thrilled to be playing both Connie and CJ in Ambien Date Night. She has had a blast with the cast and crew of this hysterical show and hopes you all enjoy watching it as much as she loves performing it! Rather recently, Katie moved back to the DMV from NYC where she performed in a variety of plays from Shakespeare in Central Park to interactive street theatre, as well as a wide range of TV and independent films. Katie is thrilled to be back in D.C. performing and writing. She is in the middle of writing a web series (untitled) and a play, White Knight You Are Not, Clearly, which she recently read excerpts of in this year’s SWAN Day at The National Museum of Women in the Arts.

Amanda Haddock Duchemin (Marianne): Amanda is thrilled to be returning to the Capital Fringe Festival with the brilliant team of Ambien Date Night! Amanda studied Theatre & Drama at Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!) and the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts where she appeared in Becky Shaw/Becky Shaw, God of Carnage/Veronica, Othello/Desdemona, and The Choephori/Electra. Some of her favorite local credits include DC Dead/Brookland, Beyond Therapy/Charlotte, A Christmas Carol/Ghost of Christmas Past, and The Importance of Being Earnest/Gwendolyn. Be sure to catch Amanda in Night Falls on the Blue Planet with Theatre Alliance this September.

Bryan Norrington (Ty): Bryan made his D.C. theatrical debut in Young Playwright Theatre (YPT)’s 2011 New Play Festival (NPF) and has performed in YPT’s 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 NPFs. He starred in the one man show “Conversation with a Diva” and the world premiere of “Tread” as part of the DC Black Theatre Festival. Bryan has performed in the Edward Albee Festival at Arena Stage, DC’s Own Entertainment Group’s original production “DCPS,” and the DC Short Film Festival feature “ABC.” He lives in Washington, D.C.

Derek Hills (Mr. Campbell): Derek is an actor and storyteller from Washington, D.C. He’s a Fringe regular who’s appeared in e-Geaux (beta), DECADES, and No Sex, Please, the solo show he wrote to chronicle his loooong virgin epoch. Derek is also a frequent storyteller, having performed with The Moth and local heavyweights SpeakeasyDC, Story League, and Better Said Than Done. He’s currently working on a full-length play called Prison Break and a massive collage made from New Yorker magazine covers.
